Some people cringe when they hear the words, "Hey lets do a shot!" We agree that for many, such practices are just too hard-core. However, Jello shots, or jello shooters as we like to call them, can be enjoyed by even the lightest of lightweights. By varying the different types of alcohol and jello flavoring, the possibilities are almost limitless. I'm the person at the
Finatics tailgate party responsible for bringing the shooters. My nickname is
Jello-Shot Donna or
Jello for short.
Jello shooters are simple to prepare and considering the price of some of the entree's brought to the party, they're relatively inexpensive. There's really no reason to use expensive liquors; Smirnoff, Bacardi, and Jose Cuervo serve up just fine. The best way to serve Jello Shooters is in disposable 2 ounce Souffle Cups. You can check your local party store for these, but I found that MY local stores no longer carry the size I prefer. Here's a direct link to
Acemart Restaurant Supplies, that will bring you to the cup ordering page.
Order 2 of these:
Souffle Cup, Plastic 2 oz.
and 5 of these:
Souffle Cup Lid, Medium
This will give you a total of 500 cups and 500 tops. This quantity lasts me about 2 football seasons!
You probably won't need 500. You can order one of each, but you'll eventually need more tops.
